Mono No Aware.
This japanese poetic concept is the wisdom that knows how to recognize beauty in every aspect of experience, even in what we might feel as "negative" elements in nature and in ourselves: such as pain, weakness, lack of sagacity, loneliness and death. Although beauty can be associated with birth and youth, without the parallel shadows of old age and death these "positives" lose their splendor. Mono no aware is to be both saddened and grateful for the transience of things. It is the quietly euphoric, bittersweet sense of having witnessed the extraordinary circus of life - as we observe, aware that nothing lasts in it.

Roberto Pianca Switzerland

Born 1984, guitarist/composer Roberto Pianca studied music at the Amsterdam Conservatory (NL). He has played and worked with a variety of notable artists including Joey Baron, Russ Lossing, John O’Gallagher, Thomas Morgan, Dado Moroni, Pietro Tonolo and Savina Yannatou a.o.
